Safety policy

All who work on Skanska sites and in the Group's offices, including employees as well as sub-contractors and suppliers, have the right to a safe and healthy workplace. Skanska also has a duty to protect the public from harm caused by its activities.

The Skanska Safety Policy Statement commits us to challenging milestones on our way to an injury free workplace including:

  • Safety Leadership
  • Safety Culture
  • Proactive management and measurement
  • Safety Resources
  • Being an agent for change in our home markets

In addition to the Global milestone target of a Lost Time Accident Rate of 1.0 by the end of 2015, there are separate milestones for each business unit. In Skanska it is the responsibility of the business unit management tem to develop its own implementation program to meet the safety policy commitments.

To support the Policy Statement there are also Policy Guidelines that provide a detailed explanation of the various commitments made in the policy statement.
