Safety Policy

Skanska aims to be a world leader in safety and aspire to provide an injury free working environment in all our workplaces every day. Our Care for Life value commits us to work safely or not at all.

The Skanska Safety Policy Statement commits us to challenging milestones on our way to an injury free workplace including:

  • Safety Leadership
  • Safety Culture
  • Proactive management and measurement
  • Safety Resources
  • Being an agent for change in our home markets

A tool has been developed to support development of safety in the organization, the Skanska Safety Road Map. It was launched in 2011 to inspire and support management teams across Skanska to meet their safety milestones. Work include annual reviews on performance and progress.

The Safety Road Map focuses on five key areas of development:

  • Safety Culture
  • Improving safety Competency through development and education programs
  • Communication of safety issues throughout Skanska
  • Implementing Controls through management systems
  • Leadership and engagement with our Contractors
