Skanska Safety Week began in 2005 and is now a part of the Skanska calendar. It is important to us because it provides an opportunity to emphasize the role that safety has in our values - Care for Life, Be Better Together, Work Ethically and Transparently. This is not limited to Skanska employees but involves anyone working on a Skanska project. We are concerned about the well-being of everyone in the construction industry.
Plan - Do - Check - Act
For 2017 our main theme for Skanska Safety Week was "Plan - Do - Check - Act" with a sub-theme of Health and Well-being. Between May 8 and 14, our 41,000 employees at thousands of projects in our home markets, along with more than 200,000 subcontractors, suppliers and business partners were involved in activities focused on workplace safety, health and well-being.
