Sustainability and green

Sustainability is a central and guiding principle to Skanska’s approach to real estate. 150 Second has been designed to meet the United States Green Building Council’s LEED Gold certification criteria. This process results in a building that consumes less energy and water and produces less waste.

 

All building materials, from the roof to the cementitious fiber panels to the interior finishes of the public areas, have been chosen with sustainability in mind. The building will contain large windows designed to wash natural daylight throughout an open floor plan design, which reduces the need for artificial lighting systems.
