Skanska is providing construction management services for the consolidation of the Mohegan and Thames Valley campuses at the latter’s New London Turnpike location for Three Rivers Community College. The project includes the renovation of about 101,000-SF of existing space and the construction of another 190,000-SF of new buildings that will replace all of the college’s labs.
The project also includes the addition of 1,200 parking spaces.
The consolidation project requires preserving the educational programs of the college and the adjacent Technical High School while constructing the new buildings and renovating the existing facility.The college will include a new learning resources center, library complex, faculty offices, a new multi-purpose room and a new cafeteria, which will include a teaching kitchen for the college’s culinary arts program. Three Rivers Community College is a multi-campus commuter college that serves Southeastern Connecticut and eastern regions of the state with a variety of credit and non-credit degree and certificate programs designed to meet the dynamic needs of its learning community.
