The two High5ive buildings adjacent to Galeria Krakowska and Krakow’s Central Railway Station are already occupied by companies including ABB, PwC, Business Link, Ocado Technology and Symphony. They provide Bike5ive, a bike parking facility with a bicycle repair station and points for charging electric bikes.
High5ive will ultimately consist of five buildings and offer approximately 70,000 sqm of modern office space. Two office buildings have been built as the first phase of the development, comprising 23,300 sqm of offices. The project is in a location well connected by road, rail, tram, bus and bike –- and also has charging points for electric cars and bikes.
“When the development began in 2016, we said that High5ive will be a place friendly and open to residents, which can be seen today with the common area between the two buildings, with rest areas provided among the greenery. We also wanted to make this place an important point on the cycling map of Krakow - and it worked. Today Bike5ive is open to everyone, with space for 365 bikes, a place to repair them and showers for lovers of two wheels. Looking at the number of parking spaces for bicycles, we can confidently say that this unique concept has been adopted,” said Arkadiusz Rudzki, managing director of Skanska office unit in Poland.
“High5ive is also the largest co-working area in Krakow. Here, together with Business Link, we have created offices suited equally to the needs of small and micro companies as well as corporations wanting to lease temporary, additional space,” added Rudzki.
At the opening day, workers at High5ive were able to take advantage of various activities related to cycling and an ecological lifestyle in the form of eco-education. Available to those interested was a blender bike, on which users could make themselves a nutritious cocktail by riding on an exercise bike, and a bike repair station. In the lobby of each building it was possible to play ecological wheel of fortune, a large eco board game, and make an eco-bag with a chosen design.
High5ive tenants can also use a concierge service for help in arranging small items of personal business such as receiving theater tickets or dry cleaning. The complex is built according to the highest standards of sustainable construction. An application has been made for LEED Gold certification for the first stage of the development. The Building without Barriers certificate has also been applied for, demonstrating that the building is suited to the needs of people with disabilities, parents with children, seniors and non-Polish speakers.
High5ive is Skanska's third office project in Krakow, following the Kapelanka 42 and Axis projects.
