Silesia Business Park's first building has been officially commissioned for use. Skanska Property Poland’s first investment on Katowice's office market has also gained another tenant. Sołtysiński Kawecki & Szlęzak, one of the leading law firms on the Polish market, has leased 500 sqm of office space. The major tenant is the global consulting company PwC that occupies over 7 100 sqm in total.
PwC, as the building's first and biggest tenant, has leased another 500 sqm of office space and relocated to Silesia Business Park on the 15th November. The new tenant, Sołtysiński Kawecki & Szlęzak, will relocate to the complex in March 2015. Until this time, Skanska will be working on building B of the business park, which will be commissioned for use between Q3 and Q4 of 2015. Ultimately, the complex will comprise four buildings, the first of which (building A) is already 75% leased.
"Katowice is a very promising market, especially when the development of business services is taken into consideration. This is confirmed by the latest ABSL report that also says that by the end of 2015, 17,500 people will have found jobs in this sector in the city, which means twice as much as 2 years ago. Therefore, both new and existing investors will require offices that are tailored to their needs. Silesia Business Park will meet all of these needs," says Arkadiusz Rudzki, Leasing & Asset Director at Skanska Property Poland. "Even at this early stage, we are observing great interest in our project and therefore expect further agreements," underlines Arkadiusz Rudzki.
Silesia Business Park is located in close proximity to one of the main communication arteries in Katowice and the whole Upper Silesian Industrial Region. The complex is just a few minutes from the city center and is opposite the Silesia City Center shopping mall, which provides a wide range of retail, service and entertainment amenities.
Ultimately, the complex will provide 46,000 sqm of class A office space, with each building offering 11,500 sqm. The tenants’ employees will have 600 surface and underground parking spaces at their disposal. The buildings will be LEED Gold certified ensuring a comfortable working environment for employees, and generating a 25% reduction in energy and 50% in water consumption.
