Skanska laid the cornerstone for the Dominikański office building in Wrocław

The cornerstone ceremony for Dominikański, Skanska’s biggest office building in Wrocław, was held on June 23 at 11.30 AM. Located in the city centre, Dominikański is to become one of the most prestigious office buildings in the capital of Lower Silesia.

During the cornerstone ceremony, the building’s foundation act was signed by the Vice President of the city of Wrocław – Adam Grehl, Mariusz Krzak – Regional Director at Skanska Property Poland and Piotr Wesołowski – Branch Manager at Skanska SA. Currently, the 4th storey of building A is being developed. Also, construction works of level 0 have been launched in building B. Dominikański will comprise of 7 storeys above ground. The first stage of the project will be completed in the second quarter of 2015.

Skanska Property Poland signed first lease agreements for the office building. Deloitte, global professional services firm, and Skanska’s local units will have their office in Dominikański.

Also, further negotiations are underway.This proves the great potential of the local market. Wrocław is without a doubt one of the most attractive locations for foreign investors in Poland’’, commented Mariusz Krzak, Regional Director at Skanska Property Poland.

One of the key engines for development of office building market in Wrocław is the activity of investors from the business services sector. According to the latest ABSL report, service centres with foreign capital in Wrocław currently hire ca. 20,500 specialists. This locates the city on the third place among Polish metropolises.

Skanska is the biggest provider of innovative, green office buildings for business service centres in Poland. Awards given to Skanska’s investments in Wrocław prove the high quality of buildings developed by the company. Green Day was awarded with CEE Outsourcing and Shared Services Awards 2013 and was recognized as the best investment for the SSC/BPO sector. Green Towers office building complex was awarded with Poland Outsourcing & Shared Services Award 2013. The competition’s jury also recognized Skanska’s long-lasting achievements in the sector and awarded the company with the title Developer of the Decade.

Dominikański is an A class office complex, developed in line with the green building principles with a total leasable space of around 40,000 sqm. The building has been precertified in the LEED system with a Gold rating. Skanska’s new office project will be developed at the corner of Piotra Skargi and Kazimierza Wielkiego streets, near the Dominikański Square. The location is a great advantage of the project, also due to direct vicinity of the shopping centre Galeria Dominikańska and the proximity of the Market Square, within just a five-minute walk. What distinguishes the project from other investments of this kind is the combination of modernity and historic building. The old Oppersdorfs’ Palace survived on the plot of land purchased by Skanska.

Architectural project of Dominikański comes from the Medusa Group. Skanska S.A. is the general contractor, while Skanska Property Poland is in charge of commercialization.
