The structural framework of the Silesia Business Park complex’s first office building is already visible from Chorzowska Street, one of the main communication arteries in Katowice. Currently, the roofing and façade of the office building are being installed.

"Works on the glass-aluminium façade are 60% completed. At the same time, we are carrying out interior finishing and installation works inside the building," comments Mariusz Krzak, Regional Director in Skanska Property Poland.

Silesia Business Park is a modern office complex, which will ultimately offer a total of 46,000 sqm of office space in 4 twelve-storey buildings. There will be 600 parking spaces available to future tenants in an underground car park and surface parking areas. More than 5,000 employees will be able to work in the complex.

"We are going to develop the complex phase-by-phase. One building after another. The first office building, will be available for occupation at the end of 2014", asserts Mariusz Krzak.

The investement is attracting companies that are looking for comfortable office space in a superb location. Skanska has already leased 65% of space in the first building – a lease agreement has been signed with the global consultancy PwC. Furthermore, Skanska local units will also have their offices there. Currently, negotiations with potential new tenants looking to locate their offices in Silesia Business Park are underway.

"Silesia Business Park complex will consist of comfortable office space that will mean a number of benefits for both companies and their employees. The attractive location is a huge advantage of the complex. It is situated within 5 minutes’ drive from the city center, on Chorzowska Street that connects Katowice with Chorzów, Bytom and Zabrze. Employees will find it easy to get to work by both public transport and bicycle. The surroundings of Silesia City Center also offers plenty of opportunities for shopping and entertainment after work," comments Marek Stasieńko, Regional Leasing Manager in Skanska Property Poland.

The complex, constructed in stages, will bring opportunities for further development on the same premises to tenants and future clients. The huge-scale investment may be recognized in particular by companies from the business services sector that are thriving in the Silesian agglomeration.

As with other Skanska’s office investments, the complex was designed and will be developed in line with the principles of sustainable development. Silesia Business Park has been precertified in the LEED system with a Gold rating. The complex was designed by the Medusa Group architectural studio. The general contractor is Skanska S.A. whereas Skanska Property Poland is in charge of commercialization.
