Constructing the project
Due to large scope of works, the project was divided into two stages. Stage I, consisting of 2 tasks, covered section from km 14,280 do 13,370 of the Nysa Kłodzka river and included construction of flap gated weir as well as unblocking and reconstruction of the river bed, inter-levee zone and anti-flood levees. Stage II is divided into 3 tasks and covers unblocking other river sections and flood control channel.
Thanks to the investment realized by Skanska, the inhabitants of Lewin Brzeski and neighbouring villages will be protected against flood and will have new walkways on the top of levees. Regulated river bed will also make it possible to enjoy sailing and other water sports. Excessive soil from excavations will be used to erect a hill which will make an attractive recreation spot with tobogan and bike slope and mountain bike routes.
