North bypass in Rzeszów

Constructing the project

The investment includedrealization of 2 two-lane roadways, a roundabout, bicycle tracks, sidewalks and a road connecting bypass with ul. Załęska, as well as rebuilding of sections of ul. Księżycowa and ul. Rzecha.
We built an overpass (110 m long and 20 m wide) over ul. Księżycowa and busy mainline connecting Kraków and Medyka. Most of the works were executed without disrupting train traffic, which was stopped only once, for four hours, while we were relocating the structure supporting formwork over the tracks. The overpass was concreted in 34 hours (with 10 concrete trucks delivered 850 m3 of concrete mix). Safety barriers and transparent acoustic screen panels made of acrylic were installed on the overpass. We used a modern bituminous mix paver equipped with screeds allowing mix spreading up to 7 m in width. Electronic control system allowed ensuring ideally smooth surface.
Within the scope of the investment we realized horizontal road marking, we erected road signs and street lamps and planted trees and decorative bushes. We also realized sanitary and storm rain water sewerage systems. Construction works included power supply, gas supply, water supply and telecommunication networks as well as railway contact line.

The project in figures

  • 2 two-lane roadways, width – 7 m
  • Pavement bearing capacity – 115 kN per axle
  • Green belt - 5 m wide
  • Sidewalk and bicycle tracks – 2,5 m wide
